With The Playoffs Finally Set, I find it time for a preview.

WILD CARD ROUND:
(6) Cincinatti @ (3) Houston: CIN 17-7. A week ago, I thought it would’ve been the Jets or Titans in this spot, but shit happens, ya know? Anyways, As we watched the past three weeks, Houston’s offense can’t run with either Yates or Delhomme at the Helm, and Foster can’t do it all. Better Luck next year Houston.

(5) Pittsburgh @ (4) Denver: PIT 27-0. After watching “Tebow Time” end, and Denver lose 3 in a row, I was kinda hoping Oakland would get in so I wouldn’t have to hear about Tebow anymore. Oh Well. Not even gonna bother with reasoning this one.

(6) Detroit @ (3) New Orleans: NO 30-14. I was rooting for Detroit, but no one can stop the Saints, except maybe Green Bay.

(5) Atlanta @ (4) New York: NYG 17-14 OT. Close one, but Eli outclutches Ryan, who makes a late mistake. New York is coming together at just the right time.

DIVISIONAL ROUND:
(5) PITTSBURGH @ (2) BALTIMORE: PIT 27-24. Do You really think Pittsburgh’s gonna let Baltimore beat em 3 times in one year? nope.

(6) CINCINATTI @ (1) NEW ENGLAND: NE 31-20. Pats D keeps Cincy close, but Brady and his crew are too clutch.

(3) NEW ORLEANS @ (2) SAN FRANSISCO: NO 26-20 OT. The Matchup everyone wants to see. You can’t deny you wanted this game. This game could go either way, but San Fran has less experience than the Ol’ Saints.

(4) NEW YORK @ (1) GREEN BAY: GB 27-10. No one can beat the Packers, except the Saints and apparently the Chiefs.

CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS:
(5) PITTSBURGH @ (1) NEW ENGLAND: PIT 16-10 OT. Snowy Game, but still much passing. Long TD pass from Big Ben Does it.

(3) NEW ORLEANS @ (1) GREEN BAY: NO 26-23. The Saints are too hot for the Cheese to stop. Good Run Green Bayy.

SUPER BOWL:
PITTSBURGH VS. NEW ORLEANS: PIT 23-17. Pittsburgh’s D is just lil bit too good.

Coming off A One Goal Win, How Will The Bandits Do?

How Bout Them Bandits? I know most Buffalonians don’t understand lax and can’t even catch most games on cable TV, let alone NBC CBS or ABC. The Bandits are our lacrosse team here, and teenagers, young adults, and even some mid aged people follow the bandits like its their jobs (well sometimes it is). They are also the only professional sports team here to win a league championship since the 60′s Bills (Bandits have won in 1992, 1993, 2008). They’ll be squaring off against their eastern confrence rivals from across the Peace Bridge, The Toronto Rock.

The Bandits, who earned a 10-6 regular season record and a regular season title, are coming off an 11-10 nailbiter over the Boston Blazers in which goaltender Mike Thompson(What’s He Got? Nothing!) had 42 saves on 52 shots, and John Tavares(Johnny Who?) had 3 goals and 4 assists in the win. Thompson is the second ranked goaltender in the league according to nll.com. Roger Vyse had a huge night with 4 goals and 2 assists. The Bandits definitley have some of the best fans in the league to support them.

Toronto had an equally great record (10-6). They are coming off a 10-8 win against The Bandits other rivals, the Rochester Red Wings. Led by Captain Colin Doyle, The Rock Are Ready For Buffalo, Who They Defeated back in January(8-5). The Rock will be ready, and this game will not be a cake walk for The Bandits.

The Bandits need a big game out of Tavares and Steenhuis. They also need a strong performance from Thompson. If They Do That They should have no problem winning this one.

This years draft was the best in years, yet it was still dissapointing to me. Maybe I’m Just becoming a pessimist for the Bills, who knows?

Round 1, Pick 3- Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
This guy wasn’t my favorite guy to take, i actually was looking for a o-lineman to protect Fitzy, but you can’t always get what you want, can you? This guy is however, a stud who can start right away, possibly at a 3-4 d-tackle, but we’ll see. Let’s hope he’s not another Aaron Maybin. Hey, he made a tackle last year!

Round 2, 34th Overall- Aaron Williams, CB, Texas
The Bills got some good help on d, but at the wrong position. The Bills were third in the league in pass defense, and 32nd in run Defense, nuff said. I approve a corner, but not this early. I mean, come on, Bowers was still on the board!

Round 3, Unknown Pick No.- Kelvin Sheppard, LB, LSU
After studying this guy, he seems like a pretty good player who can start right away in a depleted linebacking core in the B-lo. Hopefully he picks up the slack after Poz’s yearly injury. This was a good pick to me, they adressed a long time need.

Round 4, 100th Overall- DeNorris Searcy, CB, UNC
Another head scratcher. The Bills, one of the best passing d’s just a year ago, get a corner? With Some Good O-linemen on the board? Come on now.

Round 4, 122nd Overall- Chris Hariston, OL, Clemson
Finally I get the lineman i have wanted for this whole draft. May not be the best guy ever, but hey, anythings better than the bell-whoever the hell was playing RT that week combo. Hey, that rhymed.

Round 5, 133rd Overall- Johnny White, RB, UNC
Boy, Chan The Man And Buddy must have a thing for running backs from the Carolinas (a la CJ Spiller). Really? Thats all i could say when i saw this pick. With Tyrod Taylor, TJ Yates, and other players at positions we legitamately need, we take another running back? We need a line to plow our runners a hole.

Round 6, 169th Overall- Chris White, LB, Miss. State
Hey, Eric Moulds went to Mississippi State! Right Position, a little late though. So We’ll see, i doubt he’ll do anything to fix the situation at LB

Round 7, 206th Overall- Justin Rodgers, DB, Richmond
All I’ll say is Buddy Nix definitley has a fetish for southern guys at positions we don’t need.

Round 7, 245th Overall- Micheal Jasper, NT, Bethel
Oh God, I could write a freaking novel about the up and downsides of this guy. I’ll attempt to summarize this guy in a paragraph. First, His colossal upside. Literally. 6’4″, about 378 lbs, but he’s played at about 450. Don’t let his weight fool you, he has a 32 inch vertical, a 5.6 something 40, and an unbelievable shuttle time. His hands are the size of footballs. He can also play offense, where he played at Bethel, but he’s most comfortable at the nose. With A Guy Like Kyle Williams to coach him, he could be scary soon. Next, The Downside. He played at a small college. That’s about it. I’m gonna closely follow this guy, he could be the steal of the draft.

Lets Go Bills! I give this draft a B, due to the filling at positions we don’t need!

Now that we pretty much know who’s gonna be in the Draft, we assessed team needs, as well as records and where everyone will pick. So, here’s the mock draft.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Ndakomong Suh, DT, Nebraska
Let’s face it: Tampa Sucks. They invested in their QB of the future in Josh Freeman, and need dire improvements on both lines. Suh is the best talent in the draft and will start and make an impact almost immediately. This won’t fix the situation, but he’s someone they can build a team around.

2. St. Louis Rams- Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
The Rams have a good quarterback in Marc Bulger and an above average running back in Stephen Jackson. Now they need someone to protect those two. I think Okung is the best Offensive Lineman in the draft and won’t make an immediate impact on the Rams, but he will eventually become a 1-2 tandem with Jason Smith.

3. Cleveland Browns- Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
Let’s Face It: The Browns need help everywhere (but the O and D Lines). Eric Berry is a nice addition to a devastated secondary and could make an immediate impact with the Browns.

4. Detroit Lions- Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
The Lions could go a few ways here. Depending on availability, they may get Okung, or maybe even Suh or Berry if they’re lucky. The Lions have a QB of the future, but no one to protect him. Campbell may address that need and I think the Lions may start to improve with an OT to anchor them.

5. Kansas City Chiefs- Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
The Chiefs invested quite a bit to get Matt Cassel, but need to invest in some protection. Cassel, Dwayne Bowe, and this guy, Trent Williams, could really be cornerstones going forward for Kansas City.

6. Oakland Raiders- Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
The Raiders need to build their team around the hard-working, talented players. Gerald McCoy is the 2nd ranked DT in the draft this year and will help the Raiders start to get their swagger back. McCoy has the raw, game-changing talent that not many people possess in the game today, and can make an immediate impact in the Bay Area.

7. Washington Redskins- Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
Despite making some steps forward, the Redskins still need someone who can make those big, timely throws when he needs to. The ‘Skins can be a good team if they have the right guy behind center.

8. Buffalo Bills- Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
The Bills have struggled ever since Doug Flutie left them at the Quarterback spot, and this is because, plain and simple, there is no talent in Buffalo to work with. Bradford will quickly bounce back from his shoulder surgery and win over the starting job for the Bills.

9. Seattle Seahawks- CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson
The ‘Hawks haven’t had a running game since the days of Sean Alexander, so this is a no-brainer. Spiller carried Clemson to the ACC title game, and should carry the Seahawks to the playoffs next year.

10. Denver Broncos (from Chicago)- Ronaldo McClain, ILB, Alabama
The Broncos are a solid team already, but an addition never hurts. The Best LB in the draft should do that for them.

11. San Fransisco 49ers- Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
The 49ers need a QB, fast. Alex Smith and Sean Hill just won’t cut it anymore. McCoy is the 3rd QB in the draft and was great in his 4 years at Texas.

12. San Fransisco 49ers (from Carolina)- Bryan Baluga, T, Iowa
Now to get the insurance on that new Hot Rod (McCoy)! Baluga is a solid choice here and will be a good cushion for McCoy to experiment in San Fran.

13. Houston Texans- Derrick Morgan, DE, GT
The Texans need another end to compliment Mario Williams, and they get it here.

14.Tennessee Titans- Charles Brown, T, USC
The Titans need someone to protect Vince Young or Kerry Collins (whoever’s behind center there) and Brown, coming from a good team, can do just that with this pick.

15. New York Jets-Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama
The Jets are not elite for 1 reason- The Line can’t stop anyone. Cody is a nice addition and will improve the Jets.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers- Taylor Mays, S, USC
The Steelers have struggled due to their secondary, and a lack of a certain safety. Mays compliments a returning Polamalu, and strengthens the secondary.

17. Miami Dolphins- Ras-I Dowling, CB, Virginia
The Dolphins lost to the Bills because they couldn’t stop the pass. They lost to New England because they couldn’t stop the pass. Seem like a recurring theme? Dowling improves the secondary and will help the “fish” challeng the pats next year.

18. Jacksonville Jaguars- Ryan Mallet, QB, Arkansas
Let’s face it ,David Garrard isn’t young. Mallet is a Garrard like replacement and will challenge him for the starting job.

19. Atlanta Falcons- Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma
A new toy for Matt Ryan. That’s why he’ll be a Falcon.

20. New York Giants- Nvarro Bowman. OLB, Penn State
If Bowman falls this far, he’ll be a steal. He helps out the Giants run D, which isn’t much at the moment

21. Baltimore Ravens- Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
Derrick Mason isn’t getting any younger, and is there any other recievers in Baltimore? Bryant gives some much needed help to the Ravens reciving corps.

22. New England Patriots- Johnathan Dwyer, HB, Georgia Tech
Dwyer is finally a running back that the Pats can count on to take some pressure off of Tom Brady

23. Dallas Cowboys- Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida
Dunlap helps out Ware on the pass rush.

24. Philadelphia Eagles- Sean Witherspoon, OLB, Missouri
The Eagles are solid, but need some defensive help.

25. Green Bay Packers- Trevard Lindley, CB, Kentucky
Lindley helps out an aging Packers secondary.

26. Cincinatti Bengals- J.P. Paul, DE, South Florida
Paul helps out a line that was meteokre at best last year.

27. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver)- Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
The Seahawks need a new QB in 2010. It’ll be interesting to see if Tebow will make it in the pro’s

28. Arizona Cardinals- Damian Williams, WR, USC
This gives the Cardinals a choice at slot reciever between Him and Steve Breaston.

29. San Diego Chargers- Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
Spikes gives a solution at Inside Linebacker.

30. Minnesota Vikings- Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss
Hardy gives them someone to play across from Jared Allen.

31. New Orleans Saints- Arthur Jones, DT, SU
Jones Gives help to the defense that was meteokre.

32. Indianapolis Colts- Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
Tate’s a good option at the slot and a new toy for Peyton Manning.

This concludes the draft.
